Heritage Crest Knit Dress

A fine vertical rib from shoulder to hem, which lengthens the line and gives the knit a tactile, slightly formal finish. The body skims rather than grips.

The skirt below the waist is pleated, so there is movement where a column would otherwise be severe. The crest at the shoulder is the detail that names it — embroidered, small, and the only ornament anywhere on the dress.

The fabric

A fine-gauge rib with recovery in it, so the column holds its line through a long dinner rather than seating out. The pleats are set into the skirt rather than pressed on, which means they survive a wash.

How it fits

Sized S–M with the stretch covering more than that. The waistband is elastic, which matters more on a fitted shape than on a loose one. The hem sits below the knee, and at mid-calf on a petite frame.

Looking after it

Cold wash on a delicate cycle inside a mesh bag, dried flat. Fine knits pill where they rub, so turn it inside out for the wash and take a comb to it twice a season rather than picking at it by hand.

As a korean fashion formal dress it does not need jewellery to make the case, and it is the chic dress to impress that does not announce the effort — comfortable enough to sit among petite dresses casual as well.
