A soft breathable rib-knit in two pieces. The top is hooded with a half zip, so it runs from a high cosy neck to an open collar depending on how far you pull it, with drawstrings at the hood.

The trousers are wide-leg and drape properly, which is the difference between a lounge set and a tracksuit.

The fabric

A fine rib-knit with recovery, soft against the skin and warm without weight. Both halves are knitted rather than cut from jersey, which is where the drape comes from.

How it fits

One size, cut generous. Top: chest 48–64 inches, length 26.5 inches. Trousers: waist 24–40 inches, inseam 27 inches.

Looking after it

Cold wash on a delicate cycle inside a mesh bag, dried flat. Fine knits pill where they rub, so turn it inside out for the wash and take a comb to it twice a season rather than picking at it by hand.

Why we took this one

Wide-leg trousers that drape are the difference between a lounge set and a tracksuit. The hoodie on its own goes with jeans, which is how most of it gets worn.

Whether the trousers drape is a yarn decision rather than a styling one, and knitting both halves rather than cutting them from jersey is where the money goes here. Buy it knowing the hoodie will do more work than the set — the mocha in particular gets out of the house most weeks.

Three ways to wear it

Together — with trainers, for a day of errands.
Hoodie alone — with straight jeans, which is how most of it gets worn.
Trousers alone — with a fitted knit tucked in and a loafer.

Before you order

One size, in a rib that holds its shape rather than growing through the day. The mocha is the one that reads least like loungewear and gets out of the house most; the black is the one that gets worn at home. Buy it knowing the hoodie will do more work than the set. Wash cold and dry flat — a hot drum takes the spring out of a rib permanently. The softest of our cute clothes sets.
