Description

A fine cashmere-blend knit, soft enough that the first thing anyone does is put a hand on them. Warm without bulk, with enough stretch to sit cross-legged in.

The fabric

A fine cashmere blend, light and plush at once. Elastic drawstring waist, with a soft cuff at the ankle that stays rolled if you roll it.

How it fits

Waist 24–34 inches, rise 15 inches, inseam 25 inches. One size, relaxed through the thigh and tapering gently to the ankle.

Looking after it

Cold wash on a delicate cycle inside a mesh bag, dried flat. Fine knits pill where they rub, so turn it inside out for the wash and take a comb to it twice a season rather than picking at it by hand.

Why we took this one

A cashmere blend soft enough that the first thing anyone does is put a hand on them. Deep pockets that are real, and a tangerine that is far easier to wear than it looks.

A jogger is usually the garment nobody sees you in. Cashmere in the blend changes that — it drapes instead of bagging, so the same trousers go out under a long coat. The tangerine is the loudest thing on the rail and far easier with cream and grey than anybody expects.

Three ways to wear it

  • Home — a fitted knit and a trainer.
  • Out — a long coat and a loafer, which is what makes them read as trousers.
