A long coat with nothing on it: no belt, no epaulettes, a single row of concealed buttons. The line runs straight from the shoulder to just below the knee.
No collar and no belt is harder to cut well than it sounds — there is nothing to hide behind, and every seam shows.
The fabric
A wool blend with enough body to hold that line in a wind. Lined to the hem, with two welt pockets set low, where your hands actually go.
How it fits
Cut straight rather than fitted, with room for a knit underneath. The hem sits just below the knee.
Looking after it
Dry clean. Tweed holds its shape because of how it is woven and a machine wash takes that out of it permanently. Brush it down after wearing and air it rather than washing it at every outing.
A korean fashion winter coat is the piece a wardrobe is built around, and this is the plainest and most useful one we have — korean style winter wear in a single garment.
