Description

Ribbed knit, close through the hip and thigh, then flaring out below the knee — the mermaid line, done in a knit so it moves instead of holding its shape rigidly.

There is a shimmer worked through the yarn. It is not a sequin or a print; it catches the light as you turn and disappears when you stand still.

The fabric

Rayon and nylon, which is where the softness and the stretch come from. A wide ribbed elastic waistband that stretches to a 34 inch waist.

How it fits

Length 32 inches, cut to a 27–28 inch waist. The flare starts below the knee, so it needs a shoe with a little height to balance.

Looking after it

Cold wash on a delicate cycle inside a mesh bag, dried flat. Fine knits pill where they rub, so turn it inside out for the wash and take a comb to it twice a season rather than picking at it by hand.
