Heartleaf — houttuynia cordata — is the botanical Korean houses reach for when skin is angry, and a heartleaf toner is the simplest way to get it onto your face without adding a step.
No acid, no fruit extract, nothing to react to. That is the whole specification, and it is exactly what reactive skin is looking for. It is the plainest thing on our skincare shelf and the one we restock most.
What is in it
Each pad is soaked rather than damp, with enough essence in it to cover a face and leave some to press in. Embossed on one side for a light sweep, smooth on the other for laying flat on a patch.
The size of it
Sixty pads in the jar. Morning and night that is a month; once a day, two.
Good to know
Use the tongs or clean fingers rather than dipping a hand in, and press the lid down firmly – a jar left open dries from the top down. Keep it out of direct sun.
It is the sensitive skin toner we recommend first, and the korean toner pad for anyone whose skin reacts to anything with fruit acid in it — the gentlest korean skincare step there is.
