A round-neck knit vest with a full button placket and contrast ribbed trim at the neck, armholes and front edge. The Fair Isle bands run across the chest, and worked into them are embroidered details and small raised appliqués — potted flowers, wreaths, little houses.
It is a proper piece of knitwear rather than a printed jumper. The motifs are stitched, so they will still be there in five years, which is the difference between something you wear every December and something you wear once.
The fabric
A soft breathable knit, light enough to wear indoors without overheating — which is more than most festive knitwear manages. Three colourways: creamy off white with brown trim, deep navy with red, and a crimson red.
How it fits
Sized L and cut to layer, so there is room for a shirt or a long-sleeved tee underneath without pulling at the armholes. Buttoned it reads neater; open it reads as a waistcoat.
Looking after it
Cold hand wash or a wool cycle, and dry it flat rather than on a hanger – a knit this weight will stretch at the shoulders in a season if you hang it wet. Fold it to store. A cool iron under a cloth if the hem needs settling, never directly on the rib.
It is the most cute clothes for christmas thing in the shop and it survives well past December as cute clothes for winter — a piece of korean fashion winter knitwear with an actual sense of humour.
