Description

Broad horizontal stripes on a dense, smooth knit — not fuzzy, and it keeps its shape rather than growing through the day. The V-neck is cut deep enough to layer a collar underneath without crowding it.

The buttons are gold-toned and star-embossed, and they are doing the work of jewellery. That is why the cardigan is finished with nothing else on it.

The fabric

A high-gauge knit with real stretch and real recovery. Dense enough to wear buttoned as a top without anything underneath, fine enough to go under a coat.

How it fits

Sized S–M with the stretch covering more than that. Cropped to the waist rather than the hip, so it sits above a high-waisted trouser or skirt cleanly.

Looking after it

Cold wash on a delicate cycle inside a mesh bag, dried flat. Fine knits pill where they rub, so turn it inside out for the wash and take a comb to it twice a season rather than picking at it by hand.

It is a cute clothes aesthetic piece in the proper sense: simple shape, one good detail, nothing else trying — and korean fashion winter rails are full of these for a reason.

Why we took this one

The buttons are doing the work of jewellery, which is why the cardigan is finished with nothing else on it. Both colourways sell; the pink goes first.

Cropped knitwear used to be a young woman's buy, and then the waistline in everything else moved up and it stopped being one. This is the piece that works with the trousers and skirts people are actually wearing now, which is most of why it sells. Among cute clothes aesthetic pieces it has one good detail and nothing else trying.
