Black from the shoulder down, broken across the bodice by a band of ivory brushstrokes that look painted rather than printed. It is the only pattern on the dress and it sits where a pattern does the most work.
Long dresses are usually bought for one evening and then hang in a wardrobe reproaching you. This one is knit on top and corduroy below, so it is warm enough to wear in the months you are actually invited to things.
The fabric
The top half is a thick soft knit with real stretch in it; the sleeves and the skirt are a lighter corduroy that moves when you do. The waistband is wide and elastic, which is what lets the skirt swing instead of hang. Accordion-pleated through the skirt, so it reads formal standing still and forgives you at the table.
How it fits
One size. Bust 34–46 inches, waist 30–40 inches, length 42 inches — and the range on those is not a typo, the knit genuinely covers it. At 42 inches the hem skims the ankle on a shorter frame rather than pooling, which is why it works as a petite dresses evening wear option without a hem alteration.
Looking after it
Dry clean, or a cold delicate wash inside a mesh bag if you are confident, hung by the waistband so the pleats fall straight. Never fold it across the pleats. A cool iron on the reverse if an edge has softened.
As a korean fashion formal dress it is dressy without being fussy, which is a harder line to walk than it sounds — and among petite dresses special occasion options, one of very few that needs nothing done to it first.
